What is Dirty Hog?

The Dirty hog is a 9 -12 mile hardcore obstacle choose your own adventure race, designed by US Special Forces and reality television experts. Unlike other mud runs, The Dirty Hog is a hybrid genome of unique obstacles which challenge you both individually and as members of a team with unique rewards. As you successfully complete each challenge you will change the rest of your race..

What Makes The Dirty Hog Tougher?

The Dirty Hog offers several different variations of the same course at the same time! For the first time ever, the course will be as tough as you make it. Every participant must complete 20-25 obstacles throughout the course.but here's the catch: whether you complete the challenges alone or with the help of fellow competitors the way you complete a challenge will dictate the distances between the next challenge, what you have to carry (or not) to the next one. It is a choose your own adventure race on steroids! .

Is the Dirty Hog a race?

The Dirty Hog is not a race, but more of a personal challenge. We do not time participants and encourage you to run with friends in order to help each other accomplish the course together. .

What do I get with my entry?

All participants receive entry to The most badass mud obstacle course, a Dirty Hog T-shirt, a Hog Tag (if you finish),a FREE Hug from a Hog Girl, a FREE Beer and of course entry to the Hog Pit Post party with the famous Hog Girls!.

Can Spectators come watch?

Of course they can come watch. Who else is going to get you a new Facebook profile pic running through fire! .

How do I register for a Dirty Hog?

Having problems registering?

Is there an age limit to participate in a Dirty Hog?

If you are new piglet (under 18) you must have parental consent in order to participate..

Can I bring my friends or family?

The more the merrier! The Dirty Hog is much more than a adventure challenge, it is a full blown party complete with pulled pork, pop up shops, drinks, live music and the dirtiest after party known to man. .

Can kids compete?

Kids under 14 can not compete In the Dirty Hog,but they can compete in the piglet run..

Can I transfer my registration?

Sorry we do not allow any registrations to be transferred for any reasons. .

Can I get a refund?

We do not give refunds for any reason. .

Can I get a discount?

Yes you can get a $10 discount if you are in the military, a police officer, or a fireman. .

I'm in the military do I get a discount?

Yes all military personal get a $10 discount. You must show ID at registration and if you are someone who would lie about something like that than you are not a true Hogger. .

Do you charge a parking fee?

Yes parking is $10 and we highly encourage car pooling. .

Can I register by mail or phone?

TEAM FAQs 

How do I form a team?

Whether you are looking to challenge yourself alongside friends or family or you are calling out that old friend who always said s/he was stronger than you...get the word out using our facebook page or our challenge form. For once and for all you will find out who is the dirtiest swine of all.Form a team here..

How do I join a team?

The Dirty Hog course requires team work along the way in order to succeed and complete the individual challenges. So whether you come with friends or alone, you will meet tons of fellow hoggers and create teams organically along the way.Join a team here. .

Can I add members to my team after I register?

Of course, just tell your friends to click join existing team and enter your team name. .

Do all team members have to sign up at the same time?

No. Simply tell new members of your team to cick join existing team whenever they are ready. Hurry because the sooner you join the cheaper!.

Can I change my team name?

Yes you can change your team name by clicking manage existing team. .

How big can my team be?

Your team can be as large as you want. .

Can I switch from an individual wave to a team?

Of course, just contact us and let us know the name of the team you will be joining. .

How should I Prepare for Dirty Hog?

We strongly recommend trying to increase your physical abilities before the The Dirty Hog. No matter your current fitness level you will be punished, physically and mentally. That being said The Dirty Hog is about discovering yourself on a different level. We want you to experience the ultimate feeling of accomplishment when you cross that finish line.In general the people we are looking for are average people who take care of themselves and are looking to get down and dirty. .

So I am signed up for the Dirty Hog...Now What?

Start recruiting your friends and start training. For an example of our training program, download the PDF here. Once you register we will send you regular updates and workout programs from MTV personalities and celebrity trainers. .

Do I have to be in great shape?

You should be in the best shape you can be, but more than anything, you should be mentally prepared to push yourself farther than you ever have. Everyone should finish, just how, and how long is up to you..

Do I need to be a long distance runner?

Having some experience running is a plus. Remember, The Dirty Hog is a 9 - 12 mile obstacle course...so if you get winded getting from the couch to the fridge you may want to reconsider. .

What should I wear to Dirty Hog?

We recommend athletic clothing that will dry fast. We also recommend wearing gloves. .

Should I bring a change of clothes?

Yes. You might want to change out of your wet, muddy clothes to hang out at the post party. Or mybe we are wrong and you want to party dirty!.

What are the swimming requirements?

You will not need to swim more than 10 feet in any water more than waste deep. Lifeguards will be on hand at any water obstacle and you can skip any obstacle you do not feel you can accomplish. You will just not recieve an award and might be penalized at the next checkpoint. .


EVENT DAY FAQs

What time should I arrive on event day?

The Dirty Hog is more than an adventure race it is an all day event. Arrive early to meet your fellow hoggers, check out the pop up shops and warm up. We recommend arriving a minimum of an hour before to start time in order to park, register and stretch. .

What should I bring?

Bring your photo ID, signed waiver, change of clothes, cash, and some guts..

Should I print and sign a waiver before event day?

Yes. Please print and sign the waiver beforehand to make the registration process quicker..

What if there is bad weather?

We can only hope..

Can I skip an obstacle?

Yes. However, If you skip an obstacle you might not recieve an award and might be penalized at the next checkpoint. All our obstacles are designed to push you individually and as members of a group. Also the individual obstacles determine what the next phase of your course will look like. If you plan on skipping the obstacles, you might want to sign up for the other 5K mud runs...thats where all the piglets tend to go anyways. .

Where do I pick up my packet?

Race packets can be picked up at the registration tent..

Is there a time limit?

There is no time limit. You may finish the course in as much time as you need..

Will I be timed?

You will not be timed officially but times are available. THis is not a race but a challenge..

Are there water and aid stations on the course?

Yes. There will be plenty of water,first aid and banana stations throughout the course..

Can I bring my pet?

Sorry for everyone's safety pets are not allowed. Lola should be roaming the grounds..

Is there food and alcohol at the Hog Pit Post Party?

Food, beverages, and alcohol will be for purchase at the post party..

Can I bring my own food and alcohol?

No outside food or alcohol will be permitted on the grounds..

Will there be showers?

It might not be the ritz, but you will have the ability to wash off after the run..
